WATCH! This Pakistani cleric says Earth does not revolve around Sun; Twitter erupts with reactions

New Delhi: Pakistan’s eminent religious scholar Kaukab Noorani became subject of ridicule on social media after a video of his sermon went viral on the internet where he said that the Earth doesn’t revolve and is stationary.  The cleric refuted the fact that the Earth revolves around Sun and rather asserted that the planet is stationary and even provided examples to support his argument. In a video shared by journalist Bilal Farooqi, he can be heard saying “Science says that the earth revolves around Sun, scholars say that the earth is stationary; the Earth  does not revolve around the Sun.” He criticised at length the people of science for teaching children about the earth’s revolution around the Sun. He cited reference of a book titled “Al Fauz Ul Kabeer” while giving his statement. Noorani is a renowned Pakistani Islamic scholar who regularly appears on TV shows.
