EXCLUSIVE PHOTOS: Priyanka Gandhi visits slum dwellers for the first time after entering politics

The Indian National Congress had appointed Priyanka Gandhi as the general secretary of Eastern Uttar Pradesh region on January 23, in wake of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The INC also named her as the in-charge of party’s affairs in Eastern Uttar Pradesh as a move to step up their preparations for the Lok Sabha polls.

Yadav told ABP News that Priyanka often drops by at his place to meet his son who is suffering from polio and enquires about his well-being.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, the newly inducted general secretary of Congress, who returned to India from abroad on Monday, has already become active. She visited a slum house in Delhi on Tuesday evening. He said that whenever Priyanka goes to visit Rahul Gandhi, she makes it a point to stop by at his place and to have tea and snacks. He said that Rahul Gandhi had also visited them a year ago, but the place is frequented by Priyanka. Priyanka Gandhi had also aided Ashish’s treatment with the help of an NGO and had made books and clothes available to him, Subhash said.

Priyanka went to meet brother Rahul via a slum route that leads to the backdoor of his residence. Along the way she met many slum dwellers. She paid a visit to a slum-dweller Subhash Yadav’s house and also had water at his place. Priyanka stayed there for 10 minutes.
