And the audience verdict is out! Akshay Kumar starrer 'Mission Mangal' which released on Independence Day(Thursday) took off to a sky-high start as the film recorded a bumper opening day collection. The movie helmed by Jagan Shakti features an ensemble star cast of Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, Kriti Kulhari, Nitya Menen, Sharman Joshi among others emerged as the clear winner at the box office and earned Rs 29.16 crores on first day. With such huge numbers the film also becomes Akshay Kumar's highest opening movie beating his previous Independence Day release 'Gold' which had recorded Rs 23.63 crore on its first day. The film had also recorded the 12th highest advance of all time with pre-releases collections of Rs. 15 crore nett plus.
