Dostana 2: Janhvi Kapoor To Play Kartik Aaryan’s Sister And NOT Lover?

New Delhi: Movie buffs have not been able to control their calm ever since Karan Johar announced ‘Dostana 2’ featuring Janhvi Kapoor and Kartik Aaryan in lead roles. The film is the sequel to ‘Dostana’ starring Priyanka Chopra, Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham, which released in 20o8. ‘Dostana 2’ will also feature a ‘suitable boy’, whose name is yet to be revealed. KJo had shared an explainer video on social media, introducing the cast of ‘Dostana 2’. The caption read, ‘’ "The return of the franchise with unlimited madness! Kartik Aaryan, Janhvi Kapoor & a soon to be launched fresh face - making it the trio for Dostana2, directed by Collind Cunha".

Speculations were rife that Kartik and Janhvi will play each other’s love interest in ‘Dostana’. However, a report in an entertainment portal has suggested that Janhvi and Kartik will play siblings in the romantic comedy. Yes, you read that right. The ‘Dhadak’ actress will play Kartik Aaryan’s sister in the film. PICS: Janhvi Kapoor 'spends quality time' with sister Khushi & girl gang on the hills! "Kartik and Janhvi are not paired opposite each other in Dostana 2. In fact, they are playing siblings in the film. This is a new brother-sister pairing that KJo is introducing with the movie. The reason why they called the third lead 'a suitable boy' is because both Janhvi and Kartik have the same love interest, to be essayed by this newcomer that Dharma plans to launch with the sequel," a source told Pinkvilla. It would be quite interesting to see Janhvi and Kartik fall in love with the same guy, isn’t it?

Kartik, who delivered the hit ‘Luka Chuppi’ opposite Kriti Sanon, will be next seen in ‘Pati Patni Aur Who’. The film also stars Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday. The 'Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety' actor has recently wrapped up the shoot of Imtiaz Ali's 'Love Aaj Kal 2'. Janvhi Kapoor is currently busy shooting for ‘RoohiAfza’ co-starring Rajkummar Rao.
