Chhapaak: Deepika Padukone shares her throwback pic saying "back to school"; Kick starts film shoot!

There are two reasons for spotting the throwback posts on your timelines today, one being #ThrowbackThursday, the other the ongoing viral #10YearChallenge trend but Deepika Padukone confused everyone by taking to her social media profiles in the afternoon and posting her little girl avatar with neither of the hashtags used. However there was #Chhapaak used in her caption to this pic which is the title of her upcoming Meghna Gulzar film based on acid survivor Laxmi Agarwal's life. In her childhood pic, the little Deepika donning short boy cut hairstyle and wearing a black dungaree stares straight into camera and the newly married 'Padmaavat' actress captions it - "back to school... [school bag emoji] #Chhapaak". What is believed is that Deepika has actually announced the start of 'Chhapaak' shoot and the "back to school" means she's playing a school girl in it which would be her first. If we look back at Laxmi's life, she was attacked in 2005 when she was just 15 years old, by a 32-year-old man Gudda and his alias Naeem Khan whose advances she had rejected. And this could certainly mean Deepika would go back to school to portray the 15 yr old school going Laxmi in the biopic. See Deepika's post below:

Deepika's 'Chhapaak' is highly anticipated given the story of the film and it would be interesting to see how the actress meets with the challenge of playing an acid victim. When asked if Deepika is apt to play on onscreen, Laxmi had recently said in an interview given to HT- "I believe art is art. I am so happy that Deepika is playing the role. I have no right to judge her. How can I judge someone for something which I can’t do. She has played wonderful characters on screen and I believe she will give her best. I want to thank Deepika ji, Meghna ji and the entire team who will be working together on the film. I am glad that the movie will spread awareness and will help people who are victims of such incidents to come out of it. They will get inspired that if she can do it than why not us." Deepika is also joined by actor Vikrant Massey who moved from small screen to films few years back. Vikrant Massey bags role in Deepika Padukone's film by Meghna Gulzar Earlier it was reported the film will go on the floors in 3rd week of March 2019 as the cast was still coming together. Meghna talking about casting Vikrant and the character he would play, had told IANS- "Vikrant is somebody who I wanted to work with since 'Raazi'. And after I saw him in 'A Death In The Gunj'...you know there are some actors that you just want to work with -- and I'm just glad I got the opportunity to have a suitable character for him in this film, which is Deepika's partner," Meghna said in a statement. He's a north Indian man who used to be a professional but decides to leave it all and become an actor. And then starts this campaign against acid attack violence."
