You will not be allowed to vitiate atmosphere here: Amarinder Singh warns Pak army chief

Terming the attack on Pathankot and Amritsar as a sign of cowardice Singh said: “I would like to ask Pakistan Army Chief Qamar Bajwa something, as a soldier, which Army teaches to violate ceasefire and kill jawans on the other side?"

New Delhi: Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh lashed out at Pakistan on the occasion of foundation laying ceremony of Kartarpur Sahib Corridor in Gurdaspur on Monday. Singh hit out at Pakistan Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa citing terror attacks in Punjab and killing of Indian soldiers. Terming the attack on Pathankot and Amritsar as a sign of cowardice Singh said: “I would like to ask Pakistan Army Chief Qamar Bajwa something, as a soldier. Which Army teaches to violate ceasefire and kill jawans on the other side? Which Army teaches to send people to attack Pathankot and Amritsar? This is cowardice.” In a sterner tone Amarinder Singh said: “I am warning you (Pakistan Army Chief Qamar Bajwa), we are also Punjabis, you will not be allowed to enter here and vitiate the atmosphere.” Vice President Venkaiah Naidu too agreed with Singh and said: “I must tell what Punjab CM said, that we can't allow terrorism and we simply cannot let innocents die, this isn't going to help, it's not the way; it must be understood. That’s why let this be the start of this great event.” Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu and Punjab CM Singh on Monday laid the foundation stone for the Kartarpur Sahib corridor, which will facilitate easy passage to Sikh pilgrims to the historic Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Pakistan. The decision to build the passage - from Dera Baba Nanak in Gurdaspur district to the International Border - was taken by the Union Cabinet on November 22.  Kartarpur is located in Shakargarh in Narowal district of Pakistan's Punjab. Guru Nanak Dev, the founder of Sikhism, had spent more than 18 years of his life there. The Gurdwara is located on the banks of the Ravi river, about three-four km from the border in Pakistan.
