Pak provokes India: Army chief Bajwa vows to 'avenge blood shed on border'

New Delhi: Pakistan military has dared to provoke India by saying 'it will avenge blood of its soldiers being shed on border’. The instigation comes for the first time after Imran Khan Government has come to power in Pakistan. In a ceremony to commemorate Pakistan's 53rd Defence Day held at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, country's army chief Bajwa along with Prime Minister Imran Khan paid tribute to Pakistani soldiers. He then said that all the soldiers of Pakistan are united for the ‘defence of their motherland’ Referring to the Indo-Pakistani war of 1965, Bajwa said that the 65 war serves as an important lesson to Pakistani youth even today. Pakistani media Dawn News quoted Bajwa as saying: “It is the day when the armed forces, with the full support of the nation, defeated an ‘evil adversary’ Every Pakistani was the nation's soldier. We were all united to defend our country and played our respective roles. Our soldiers jumped into the fiery pits of warfare but did not let our nation be harmed.” He said that enlightened nations do not forget their martyrs and said that they will avenge the blood flowing on border. He also said that the country passed through a very difficult phase during the past two decades and the war is still continued. Pakistan’s present government is backed strongly by the army. However, ever since the new government had come to power it had been talking of building peaceful relation with India. General Bajwa is the Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan, who was hugged by Indian cricketer turned politician Navjot Singh Sidhu at Imran Khan’s swearing in ceremony. The gesture had created huge controversy back in India, with Sidhu facing heavy backlash.
