Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash who accused CM Kejriwal of assault, transferred

Prakash had been at loggerheads with the Kejriwal government as he had alleged that he had been assaulted in the presence of the Chief Minister and his deputy Manish Sisodia.

New Delhi: As a part of a bureaucratic reshuffle, Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash, who had sparked a controversy when he accused Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and other Aam Aadmi Party leaders of assaulting him in February, has been transferred to the Department of Telecommunications by the Centre on Saturday. Anshu Prakash wiil now be the Additional Secretary of the Department of Telecommunications. He will be filling a vacancy created by the appointment of another IAS official, N Sivasailam, as the Special Secretary (Logistics), Department of Commerce. A number of other officials were also transferred in the reshuffle. Prakash is  a 1986-batch IAS officer of the Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territory (AGMUT) cadre. He had been at loggerheads with the Kejriwal government as he was allegedly assaulted at a midnight meeting held at the Chief Minister's residence on February 19. He had alleged that he had been beaten in the presence of the Chief Minister and his deputy Manish Sisodia. Kejriwal, Sisodia and nine other AAP MLAs were granted bail in the case by a court here last month. The case will come up for hearing again on December 7. The name of Delhi's Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Manoj Parida, who hails from Odisha and is also an officer of the 1986 batch of the AGMUT, is in the race for the next chief secretary of Delhi. However, the order from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, did not name a new CS for Delhi.
