Burari rerun in Ranchi? 7 members of a family found hanging in rented house

Alakh Narayan Mishra, the owner of the house, told reporters the family was earlier living nearby and in January this year shifted to his. “We came to know of the incident when their child’s school van came to pick her up. When nobody opened the door, another tenant in the building tried to break open it.”

Ranchi (Jharkhand): Eleven members of a family were found hanging inside their residence in New Delhi earlier this month and an identical incident has emerged to shock the capital of Jharkhand. Seven members of a family at a locality near Kanke police station were found hung this morning with the police suspecting it to be a case of mass suicide arising out of financial stress. Two children are said to be among the deceased. Prima facie, it appears to be a case of suicide, Senior Superintendent of Police Anis Gupta said. "Five adults and two infants were found dead in their home under Kanke police station," he added. Alakh Narayan Mishra, the owner of the house, told reporters the family was earlier living nearby and in January this year shifted to his. “We came to know of the incident when their child’s school van came to pick her up. When nobody opened the door, another tenant in the building tried to break open it.” The one who rented out the house has been identified as Deepak Jha. He is native of Bhagalpur and is an employee of Godrej Company. The other deceased are his wife Soni Jha, brother Rupesh Jha, mother Gayatri Devi, father Sacchidanand, children Drishti, and Jangu. Mishra said Jha had once told him that he was upset with financial burden and would commit suicide if the situation does not improve. This is a developing story. More details are awaited and will be updated.
