Lok Sabha Polls: Delhi to witness triangular contest this time; Here is how it has voted in previous general polls

New Delhi: With the announcement of dates for Lok Sabha elections, the national capital braces for a triangular contest between Aam Admi Party, the BJP and the Congress. In Delhi, the polling for Lok Sabha will be done on May 12 and the votes will be counted on May 23. After Congress snubbed AAP's proposal of contesting together to take on the BJP, just days before the announcement of dates, a neck-to-neck contest is expected in the national capital between the three parties. Delhi has seven parliamentary constituencies all of which are currently held by the BJP. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal from AAP, former CM Sheila Dixit from Congress and BJP Delhi chief Manoj Tiwari are the important leaders from the three parties. Issues of full statehood to Delhi, unauthorised colonies, and growing tension between the Centre and the state, will largely dominate this election.
