Background

CBSE Class 10th Result 2019: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) had sent the entire country in a tizzy on Thursday by declaring Class 12th Result 2019 with less than an hour’s notice. In the past, CBSE has declared the class 10th results within a 2-3 days of announcing class 12th exam results, besides announcing the result date a day ahead of declaring the results.

With Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), earlier this week, announcing the result dates for ICSE and ISC exam results 2019 (7th May 2019); CBSE too was expected to declare the result dates this week. However, the Board caught everyone unaware by announcing the senior school exam results yesterday.

The secondary school exams were held from 21st February to 29th March 2019, this year.

The overall pass percentage was recorded at 86.70% for class 10th in 2018. Girls outshined boys by gaining a pass percentage of 88.67% and 85.32% respectively. The pass percentage for differently-abled students stood at 92.55%.

Foreign students had registered a pass percentage of 98.32% in 2018 vis a vis 99.13% in 2017.
