When mango mania hit Delhi

New Delhi [India], Jul 27 (ANI): Summer and mango-binging go hand in hand and so, to celebrate the 'King of Fruits,' National Media Club recently organised the 9th Mango Festival for the lovers.

A one-day festival-cum-exhibition, which was held at constitution club of India, started with great enthusiasm as it displayed around 250 different varieties of mangoes.

Inaugurated by Minister of State for Agriculture Shri Purushottam Bhai Rupala, it had participants from different orchards of the country like Malihabad and Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal's Malda and Pantnagar in Uttarakhand. Ramesh Awasthi, Founder of National Media Club welcomed the guest personally.

Many politicians including Sanjeev Balyan, Minister Government of India, and Giriraj Singh, Minister Government of India, were spotted at the event.

India is the largest producer of mangoes in the world with more than eleven hundred varieties of mangoes grown in different parts of the country. The festival gave an opportunity to taste different varieties of mangoes like Neeleshwari, Sikri, Royal SP, Suwarn, Himsagar, Raddy Pasand, Banganpally, Kensington, Dushehari, Langda, Chausa, Malda, Neelam, Papitiyo, Langra, Kesar, Sensation, Nazuk Badab, Fazli, Amrapali, Tommy Atkins and Alphonso etc.

Speaking about the event, Sachin Awasthi, President National Media Club, said, "The aim of this event is to provide exposure to the domestic mango industry in India. Also the festival provides encouragement to all the farmers to grow more healthy varieties of mango." (ANI)
