Twin blasts: Somalia sacks two top security officials

Mogadishu [Somalia], October 29 (ANI): The Somali Government has sacked two top security officials in the wake of deadly extremist attack that claimed lives of at least 27 persons, reported local media.

Police commander Abdihakin Dahir Saiid and head of the National Intelligence and Security Agency, Abdillahi Mohamed Sanbaloosh, were both removed from office.

Mogadishu witnessed a siege and twin blasts on Saturday.

The Somali-based insurgent group, al-Shabaab, claimed responsibility for the attack.

Earlier this month, more than 300 people were killed in the massive twin truck bombings in Somalia's capital.

The officials called the explosion as one of the deadliest attacks to hit the capital, Mogadishu, since an Islamist insurgency began in 2007. (ANI)
