Turkey arrests 61 people over suspected terror links

Ankara [Turkey], Oct 30 (ANI): The Turkey Police on Sunday arrested at least 61 people over suspected links to the Daesh in eastern Erzurum and northwestern Bursa provinces on Sunday.

As reported by the state-run Anadolu Agency, the counter-terrorism police arrested 22 people in the northeastern province of Erzurum as a part of an investigation into the terrorist organisations.

The counter-terrorism branch carried out operations against the suspects reportedly linked to Daesh in the central, Yakutiye, Palandoken and Aziziye districts of the country.

Additionally, 39 people, including 28 Syrian nationals, were detained in the operations conducted in Osmangazi, Yildirim, Nilufer, Gemlik, Inegol, Orhangazi and Gursu districts of Bursa.

Meanwhile, the police also confiscated several weapons, including two unlicensed guns and hunting rifles, digital data and documents, in the operations.(ANI)
