Trump congratulates Xi Jiping on 'his extraordinary elevation'

Washington D.C. [USA], Oct 26 (ANI): United States President Donald Trump on Wednesday congratulated his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping on being re-elected as the general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

President Trump took to his Twitter handle to inform the same, saying, "Spoke to President Xi of China to congratulate him on his extraordinary elevation. Also discussed NoKo & trade, two very important subjects!"

During the telephonic conversation, Trump also congratulated Xi Jiping for the successful conclusion of the 19th CPC National Congress, reports Xinhua.

According to the U.S. President, the 19th CPC National Congress has attracted worldwide attention, and he himself also paid close attention to important policy-related messages sent out by President Xi at the congress.

Trump further tweeted about his upcoming state visit to China, saying, "Melania and I look forward to being with President Xi & Madame Peng Liyuan in China in two weeks for what will hopefully be a historic trip!"

The report further said that the Chinese President thanked Trump for his gesture. (ANI)
