Singapore has special place in India's Act East policy: PM Modi

New Delhi [India], December 13 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said that Singapore has a special place in India's Act East Policy that is built on the foundation of strong India-ASEAN relationship.

Prime Minister Modi made these remarks during his meeting with Emeritus Senior Minister of Singapore Goh Chok Tong.

The Prime Minister warmly recalled their long association and congratulated Goh Chok Tong on assuming charge as the Chairman of the Governing Board of Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy earlier this year.

Prime Minister Modi welcomed the momentum imparted by the exchange of several high-level visits between India and Singapore in the recent years, and appreciated the strengthening of the bilateral relationship in all sectors, including trade and investment, connectivity, and defence and security.

He also credited Goh Chok Tong as an early and strong votary of ASEAN's engagement with India. (ANI)
