London: A Pakistani man has been sentenced to 26 years in jail over two hoax bomb threats in Punjab province in July, said prosecutors.

The threats were made on the first day of the Islamic festival of Eid against a crowded market place and a children's park in the central city of Multan, reported BBC.

Police tracked the man via the sim card he had used which belonged to the man's friend.

The man identified as Rana Yousuf was trying to set up his friend over a business rivalry.

The other man whose sim card was used was cleared of all charges due to lack of evidence.
