The special episode featuring Obama will air on December 17 at 10 p.m. It was filmed in early September when POTUS (President of the United States) was in Alaska to attend the Conference on Global Leadership in the Arctic.

Bear Grylls, the host of the show, has promised it will show a side of the President which people have never seen before, as Obama opens up to the host about his fears and family (while avoiding bears).

Filming with the commander-in-chief of most powerful nation proved definitely more complicated than the show’s usual "the most essential components type" production.

Helicopters, snipers and a Secret Service all were at the shoot. There was even a staffer tasked to see what the President could eat and drink in the wild. However, that didn’t stop Barack Obama from eating a bear-gnawed salmon, sharing a water bottle with Grylls and drinking tea brewed from berries collected from the forest.
