Lakme Fashion Week: Shahid, Mira turn heads at showstoppers

New Delhi [India], Feb 1 (ANI): The 2018 Lakme Fashion Week has started with a bang as Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor and his wife Mira Kapoor became the first couple to walk as showstoppers for designer Anita Dongre, on Day 1 of the star-studded event.

Showcasing their personalities instead of just catwalking, the 'Padmaavat' star was seen dressed in an ivory sherwani, while Mira wore a floral-printed lehenga choli.

The designer shared a picture of the couple on Instagram and wrote, "Here's our bride and groom".

The 36-year-old actor tweeted about his experience of walking on the ramp.

He tweeted, "Excited to have walked for @anitadongre 's @lakmefashionwk collection tonight. Great to see creations that will truly define #FutureCouture, designed with exclusive fabrics of the future from R | Elan @RElanOfficial."

Shahid Kapoor has walked the ramp for Lakme Fashion Week, before, but it was Mira's debut at the ramp. Also, it was their very first walk as showstoppers for Lakme Fashion Week.

Meanwhile, he is currently riding high on success of his latest movie 'Padmaavat'.

Helmed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the movie is going strong as it has crossed Rs. 150 crore worldwide. (ANI)
