Former Pak DAG to file FIR against Nawaz Sharif for 'lying' to Parliament

Islamabad [Pakistan], July 30 (ANI): Pakistan's former deputy attorney-general Muhammad Khurshid Khan will file a first information report (FIR) under Section 22-A against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif for "lying" about his assets revealed in the Panama Papers case while filing his nomination papers for the 2013 general elections.

"We are going to lodge an FIR against Nawaz on Monday tomorrow at Islamabad's Secretariat Police Station for lying before parliament regarding his assets revealed in the Panama Papers," The Express Tribune quoted Khan as saying.

He said that Nawaz had committed a crime by not disclosing all his assets when he applied for the National Assembly seat in 2013 general elections.

He added that Sharif should be immediately arrested and be given an exemplary punishment.

Hailing the Supreme Court's 'bold' verdict in Panama case, Khan said that Sharif and his children were involved in corruption, looting national exchequer and money laundering and time has come they paid for it.

He said Sharif became the chairman of the FZE Capital and received 10,000 dirhams per month as salary and was working as a marketing manager there since 2004.

He alleged that Sharif's assets multiplied tremendously to Rs2,350 million after coming to power. (ANI)
