Ditch conventional gifting options: Virtual gifting on cards

New Delhi [India], December 30 (ANI): Gifting has always been the best way to express love, gratitude, appreciation and good wishes.

Gone are the days when people used to buy gifts and personally give them. In the past, rising income levels, changing consumption patterns, nuclearisation of families, emigration, work-life balance have led to a sharp change in the nature and form of gifting.

With technology playing a pivotal role, virtual gifting has become the latest trend:

1) Gifting booze was never this easy as, URBar, by The Beer Cafe allows people to gift booze. The Beer Cafe- India's largest alco-beverage chain, has launched 'URBar', a virtual bar which allows patrons to reserve, consume and gift their favourite brands to friends, family and colleagues. One can explore from a wide selection of alco-beverage, pre-pay and stock them in 'URBar'.

To relish the gift, one has to simply download the app and start consuming. Bottles of popular brands such as Old Monk, Bacardi White, Chivas Regal 12 Year, Johnnie Walker, Black Label, Smirnoff, and Absolut can be reserved, as can cases and kegs of premium beers such as Kingfisher, Bira 91, Foster's, Heineken, Corona Extra, and Hoegaarden.

2) Mondelz India, a part of Mondelz International, a leading global snacking powerhouse has tied up with Amazon.in to set up India's first virtual chocolate and sweet store. With the vision of being easily available, the company has enhanced the gifting experience for consumers, where one can purchase not only the conventional gift packs but exclusive e-commerce packs as per the relevant occasion, as a part of Mondelez India's Joy Delivery offering.

3) On the other hand, Easter Egg, a blockchain technology-enabled platform that allows people to gift vouchers across geographies in real-time, choosing from restaurants, spas and other options. One being anywhere in the world having friends or family in Bengaluru, Pune or Singapore, can gift them digital vouchers to varied experiences from a beer to a foot massage or a trip to an organic farm or a museum.
