Car dangles from 4th floor parking as driver hits accelerator instead of brake
NEW DELHI: A car dangling from the fourth floor of a multi-level parking structure was safely hoisted back up and the woman driver was rescued without any injuries in California.
The pictures of the incident which took place in Santa Monica on Monday surfaced on the internet and were widely circulated on the social media.
The driver had accidentally hit the accelerator instead of the brakes which led to the car crash through the parking barriers and dangle over the edge. "It was like a movie, really. It was so wild. She came out that far with the car and that the car kept hanging there. I mean one foot more and the car probably would have come down all the way. She got really lucky..." witness Roy Huysdens told ABC news. Fire officials secured the vehicle with cables to keep it from falling until a tow truck was brought in and pulled the car back to safety, reported NBC4.INCIDENT ALERT: @santamonicafd is on scene of a vehicle hanging off of the 4th floor of Parking Structure 5 on 1400blk of 4th St. Occupants unharmmed. "Everyone was sitting in suspense thinking any minute it's going to drop," another witness by the name of Reign Bryant told NBC4.Incident Update: Vehicle has been safely removed.
