8 Bangladeshis killed in road mishap in Saudi

Jizan [Saudi Arabia], January 8 (ANI): At least eight Bangladeshis have reportedly been killed and 15 others got injured in a road accident in Jizan city of Saudi Arabia.

"We have heard that eight Bangladeshis died on the spot in the road accident while two others died after being taken to a hospital," Dhaka Tribune quoted Consul general of the Bangladesh consulate in Jeddah, FM Borhan Uddin as saying.

According to the report, one the deceased was identified as Anu Mia, 33, of Dubail village in Tangail.

Anu's cousin Monzurul Islam said his family received a call from Saudi Arabia last night that his brother and seven other Bangladeshis were killed a road accident.

The incident occurred when an office bus was hit by another vehicle on the road between the governorates of Samtah and Al-Hareth, south of Jizan Province.

The Bangladeshis were going to their workplace in the office bus.

The injured were rushed to the nearest hospital.
