Diya Aur Baati Hum: Deepika Singh yet to receive her payment of Rs 1.14 crore from producers

New Delhi: It has been more than two months since Star Plus' 'Diya Aur Baati Hum' went off air, but lead actress Deepika Singh aka Sandhya Rathi is yet to receive her payment of Rs 1.14 crore from the producers. According to the reports, the production had a dispute with actress over her late coming on the sets and due to which they have decided to deduct Rs 16 lakh from her fee. Leading entertainment portal SpotBoye quoted a source saying,"Shashi and Sumeet (the producers) wanted the actors to finish off their outstanding amounts (the show went off air on September 10 this year) by accepting a lump-sum amount. Deepika is not ready for any such settlement. She was the lead on the show who sweated it out almost every day on the sets, why should she allow herself to be shortchanged?" Reportedly, Deepika is trying to sort out with the producers and if things don't work out, she will take legal action or go to CINTAA (Cine and TV Artistes Association ).
