WATCH: Nasser Hussain creates Guinness World Record for taking highest catch

London: Former England captain and prominent commentator Nasser Hussain has achieved a unique feat to enter the prestigious Guinness World Record Book for taking the highest catch of a cricket ball. The challenge took place at the famed Lord’s Cricket ground where the ball was dropped from a Batcam drone at an estimated speed of around 74 miles. It took Hussain three attempts to create the record. At the first attempt, the ball was dropped from height of 100 ft, which Hussain easily pouched. He, however, found the height unchallenging and decided to up the stakes for the next attempt. The ball was then dropped from 150 ft and Hussain faced no problems in taking that catch too. His third attempt, from a height of 400 ft was unsuccessful though and was disqualified. Nevertheless, he had created a new record for the highest catch of a cricket ball. After setting the record, Hussain said: “Sky Sports are always looking to push the limits and be innovative in their approach to coverage, and this was certainly a very different experience for me. “It was great fun attempting to catch cricket balls dropped from a drone at the home of cricket – something I never thought I would do. But I am now looking forward to giving my hands a rest and getting back to the commentary box for the upcoming Test match.”
