WATCH: MS Dhoni drops a sitter against Bangladesh
New Delhi: A supremely assertive India humiliated Bangladesh by 240 runs in a warm-up game and geared up for the ICC Champions Trophy in an emphatic fashion, sounding a warning for arch-rivals Pakistan. India skipper Virat Kohli decided to take a back seat along with MS Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh to allow his other batsmen to express themselves before high-voltage encounter against arch-rivala Pakistan on Sunday. Dinesh Karthik, who came back into the Indian cricket team after 4 years, played a magnificent knock of 94 runs along with Hardik Pandya who smashed 80 runs off 54 deliveries to help India post 324 runs. Trying to make best of the practice matches, Virat put Karthik behind the stumps while versatile wicket-keeper MS Dhoni was put to field in different positions. Dhoni, who is known for his antics behind the stumps, experienced an embarrassing moment as dropped a sitter while fielding at short third man. The incident took place in the 24th over Bangladeshi innings, when Taskin Ahmed wrongly timed Hardik Pandya’s short delivery, providing an outside edge which went towards the short third man and Dhoni couln’t judge it.
