Virat and other senior cricketers want to play Champions Trophy
New Delhi: The doubt over India’s participation in the Champions Trophy arose when BCCI missed the April 25 deadline to announce its squad for the prestigious tournament.
The BCCI is mulling a pullout from the Champions Trophy despite the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators making it clear that such decision could not be taken without its consent
Now, Indian skipper Virat Kohli has apparently told the COA member that the Indian cricket team is keen on defending the title which India won in 2013 in England.
Earlier, a host of former Indian players including Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid spoke in favour of the country taking part in the Champions Trophy which is scheduled to be held in United Kingdom next month
However, The Board is likely to take a decision in this regard at its special general body meeting on May 7 in New Delhi.
