Team India shines on Australian battle ground

New Delhi: Indian team has put a wonderful show on the second day of second warm up match at Adelaide Oval cricket ground in  Adelaide, Australia.

 

 

 

Playing against the Australia Invitation XI, in the first innings team India began the day with 99 for 2 with Murali Vijay and Virat Kohli playing at scores of 39 and 30 not out respectively.

 

Both began the day steadily and played safe but once both got settled, they did not stop themselves from playing their shots. With a boundary past point, Virat took the team score to 137 for 2. 

 

 

By pulling a short ball straight to the fence Virat moved on to 62 and Murali Vijay brought he team score to 150 for 2 with a magnificent straight drive for a four.  
 


Vice captain Virat Kohli retired for 66 off 94 balls with a well structured knock including 10 fours. Ajinkya Rahane joined in as the new man with Indian on 159 for 3.

 

 

Next man to retire was Murali Vijay scoring 60 of 136.  Rahane who is not out on 8 is now joinig by double centurin Rohit Sharma.

 


India reached 220 for 4 with a brutal hit which straight went on the roof of the media tent.

 

 

By lunch time, India was at 236 for 4 with Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane not out on 36 and 34 respectively.


 


Rohit Sharma got run out after scoring a blastering 48.  After Rohit departed, wicket-keeper batsman Wriddhiman Saha joined in with India on 266 for 5.
 


Ajinkya Rahane reached his 50 with a boundry through point and got retired after scoring 56 of 54 balls.

 

 

Team India is now on 274  with Saha and Suresh Raina on the pitch. After lunch, both the batsmen opened up with fours and sixes. Saha hit a four down the ground and Raina tossed the ball onto long on for a six which took India to 310 for 6.

 

 

And then, India saw a soft dismissal. Suresh Raina got out by edging one to the slip after a quick fire 20 of 24 balls.

 

Wriddhiman Saha also dismissed softly with a nick on to the slip. He got out after scoring 51 off 66 balls.

Here, India finishes off the innings with 375 on boad with  132 runs lead.

Indians have got 24 overs to bowl today. Ishant, Umesh, Aaron and Karn are all charged up.

 

Whoa! Aaron! The pacer strikes off his first ball. Traps Ryan Carters lbw for a duck.

 

Australia lX is 2 wickets down now. Umesh gets India their second break through and this is again a lbw. Ashton Turner is gone for 12.
 

Spinner Karn Sharma was brought into the attack after the Australians got comfortable with medium pace bowling.

Did I just say Australians got comfortable with medium pace bowling?

Here comes Ishant Sharma who first bowled a bouncer and the next ball took the stumps off. Lethal delivery and Ishant gets a wicket.
 


Ishant is on a roller coaster. Welcomes Alex Keath with two quick bouncers and next over, gets him to edge one to Saha.

 


Spinner Karn Sharma spins the Australians in his magic. Jake Doran departs for a duck. 


Friday's game has been called off with 3 overs remaining. Australia lX has finished with 83 for 5 in 21 overs. Indian bowlers did a magnificent job in the second half of the day's play. Ishant 5-1-8-2, Umesh 5-0-30-1, Aaron 6-2-28-1.
