Sehwag congratulates Pakistan after Champions Trophy victory

  New Delhi: A dominant Pakistan spanked India by 180 runs in the summit clash of the Champions trophy in Oval on Sunday. The underdogs delivered such an all round performance that it attracted praise from all corners and forced even the detractors to take note of them. Former India opener Viredner Sehwag was one of them. Like a true champion he was one of the firsts to congratulate Sarfraz’s men after winning their maiden Champions Trophy title against all odds.

Congratulations Pakistan on a really comprehensive victory today. Well played, deserved winners and a great result for Pakistan cricket.

Like every time, Sehwag had bet for India and even urged the Pakistani fans not to mourn about the inevitable loss. But as it turned out, India were outplayed by their neighbours. Pakistan registered their biggest ever ODI win against India on a day that mattered the most. Another former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif believed the age old theory of batting first in crunch matches went in Pakistan’s favour.
