Mumbai: In what will surely bring immense disappointment to cricket
fans, legend Sachin Tendulkar is likely to retire from One Day
International format after completing his hundredth century. According to
BCCI sources. VVS Laxman is also likely to follow suit. However, sources
close to the cricketer have denied the news.

Cricket experts have observed that the batting maestro has been looking
tired of ODI formats but so far no selector has the courage to tell him to
retire from the 50-over format.

"Father time waits for no one,
including cricketing greats Ricky Ponting and Sachin Tendulkar. Both
players are looking tired of the 50-over format of the game and this week
enough was enough for the Australian selectors, who dropped Ponting from
the One-day squad," former Australian batsman Dean Jones had remarked.

India`s former cricket skipper Kapil Dev was bold enough to call for the
champion's retirement from one-dayers, saying the champion batsman`s time
was finally up after over two decades at the international level.
