Over No. 29: Ishant beats Renshaw in battle of ball Vs bat

New Delhi: Ishant Sharma produced a moment of magic on Day 5 of the third India-Australia Test at Ranchi.  The lanky fast bowler bowled his heart out in the entire match but the talking point was the 29th over of the Australian second innings – Ishant’s fifth.  Keeping true to the feisty nature of the series, the over turned out be a spicy one. Seeing someone moving in front of the sight screen Renshaw aborted at the very last moment, which did not please the tall fast bowler, who threw the ball towards the keeper in anger. Some words were also spoken between Smith and Ishant, taking everyone back to the mimicry episode of Bengaluru. The umpires reacted quickly and the matter was resolved before it escalated into something big. Ishant used this episode to charge himself up, he directed a couple of bouncer to Renshaw’s body, backed up with mean stares, the Australian opener was taken aback by the pace and late movement. The Delhi fast bowler was not finished yet. He produced a killer full length delivery that came in with the angle to trap Renshaw right in front. Ishant was ecstatic and why he wouldn’t he be, he had the final laugh in the mini battle between an opening batsman and a new ball bowler.
