Mumbai: I-League club Mumbai FC Thursday added centre back Meldon D’Silva to their squad.

Meldon has previously played in the youth teams of Dempo SC, Salgaocar Juniors and Wilred Leisure SC (of the Goa Professional League).

He was also part of the Goa (India) team that won gold in the Lusofonia Games. He contributed by scoring the first goal and in the process, helping the Indian team beat Mozambique 3-2 in the final.

Mumbai FC head coach Khalid Jamil said: “We are happy to have someone like Meldon in the team. He is a very confident boy and if you look at his youth career you will know that he has had a very strong base. He too is really excited to be a part of the Mumbai FC team. I am sure he will do well here.”
