Photo: Facebook New Delhi: In a heartwarming gesture, experienced Indian pair of skipper Mithali Raj and Jhulan Goswami donated their signed jerseys to Lord’s museum. The duo wore the outfit during India’s loss to England in the ICC Women’s World Cup final at the Lord’s cricket ground on Sunday.       Mithali Raj and Jhulan Goswami were vital to India’s success in the ICC Women’s World Cup, with the former scoring 409 runs in 9 games, while Jhulan scalped 10 wickets in 9 games, including a remarkable spell of 3/23 in the tournament decider. Despite dominating major portion of the match, India eves went down in the final overs and eventually lost the game by 9 runs.  It was India’s second appearance in the final of  elite competition and unfortunately India have ended up on the losing cause on both the occasion. Mithali, who made her debut in 1999 has represented India in 185 ODI’s, 10 Tests and 63 T20I’s. She also became the first women cricketer to reach 6000-run mark in ODI history. While, Jhulan on the other hand has her name embossed on highest wicket takers column in ODI’s. With 2017 World Cup ending on a sore note, skipper Mithali Raj announced her retirement from the tournament but will continue to play cricket for another two years.
