HYDERABAD

FULL SCORECARD

Ravichandran Ashwin to Taskin Ahmed, OUT! INDIA WIN BY 208 RUNS! Very full on leg stump, Taijul looks to flick but is struck on the pads. Big appeal for lbw and the close-in fielder has taken it as well. Erasmus thinks there is an inside edge and so denies the appeal. However, as the fielder has taken it, he has to go upstairs to confirm if it was a bump ball. The soft signal is OUT. Replays show that there was no bat involved. So, it is a not out regarding the catch. Kohli then nonchalantly opts for the review, which was obvious. Impact is line and that's hitting leg stump. So, that completes a quite comfortable win for India

97.5 overs: Ravindra Jadeja to Taijul Islam, OUT! GONE! Tea will now be extended with this wicket. A bit short around off, Taijul goes back to pull but miscues it straight up in the air. India's openers were the two men converging under the ball. Vijay initially was taking evasive action and then decides to go for the catch but Rahul ends up taking, almost colliding with his opening partner. All is well that ends well and India are now just one wicket away.

90.4 overs: Ravindra Jadeja to Mehedi Hasan, OUT! GOT HIM! Mehedi should probably have reviewed it but he chooses not to. A ripper from Jadeja as the ball spits off the deck and turns away from Mehedi who looks to block. Extra bounce and it's well taken by Saha. Big appeal for caught behind and it's given by the umpire as well. We will have to look at the replays to see if there was any glove and maybe Mehedi could have used the DRS. Replays show that there was a faint amount of glove, Snicko confirms the same.

76.3 overs: Ishant Sharma to Mahmudullah, OUT! THE SHORT BALL PLAY WORKS! This is a huge blow for Bangladesh as the well-set Mahmudullah has to depart. Ishant bangs it midway down the pitch and forces the batsman to go for the pull stroke. Turns into a top edge that is comfortably pouched by Kumar at fine leg. A solid knock ends but Mahmudullah will know that he should have batted deep into the day. India just three wickets away now.

70.4 overs: Ishant Sharma to Sabbir Rahman, OUT! THAT WAS PLUMB! Rahman has wasted a review after consulting his partner. Angling into the stumps, from a good length. The ball stays a bit low and Rahman is beaten by it as he stands deep in his crease to defend it. He misses and he gets hit on his pads. A loud appeal and the umpire gives it out. Rahman consults Mahmudullah and goes upstairs to review it as they have two reviews left. Replays show that it was plumb and there was no trouble for the umpire to give that out. Bangladesh have lost their last pair and have only 4 wickets in hand.

69.4 overs: Ravindra Jadeja to Sabbir Rahman, NOT OUT! The on-field decision stands! Floated up on middle and leg, Sabbir Rahman prods forward in defense but he is beaten there. He gets hit on his pads and the players appeal in unison. They were really interested and Kohli after consulting his players goes for a review. Replays show that the ball pitched in line, the impact was in line but it was was clipping the leg stump. That just means two reds and one orange. The on-field call stays and the Indians have lost both their reviews.

.... DAY 5, SESSION 2 ....

Good session for India to start the day. They got only two wickets but it were the big scalps of Shakib and Rahim. The former was undone by a Jadeja special while the skipper had a brain fade to gift his wicket to Ashwin. Amidst the mess, Mahmudullah batted solidly and has a very nervy Sabbir with him who has tried to look positive. India's spinners were superb while the quicks kept it tight too. The pitch hasn't played that badly and Bangladesh will hope to fight on for a draw, if not an improbable win. They need a big partnership for that to happen. Join us in a while for the post-lunch session to see how things pan out.

52.4 overs: Ravichandran Ashwin to Mushfiqur Rahim, OUT! Ashwin strikes in his very first over! Bad choice of shot after such a settled inning. Floated outside off, Rahim again tries to reach the pitch of the ball but he is unable to do it this time. He still goes for the shot and the bat turns in his hand as he just hits in the air towards the extra-cover region. Jadeja traces back a few steps and takes a fine catch. The skipper has to walk back and India need just 5 more wickets to win.

37.3 overs: Ravindra Jadeja to Shakib Al Hasan, OUT! GOT HIM! This was always on the cards, considering Shakib's intent but to fair to him, this was an unplayable ball. On a length outside off, rears up off the rough with sharp inward spin to rap Shakib on the glove. The ball then strikes the thigh pad and bobbles to short leg where Pujara takes an easy catch. Shakib is surprised by the lift on the delivery but he has to go. Jadeja has a wry smile and is inspecting the area from where he got the bite. Expect him to be relentless in that spot.

The players and umpires are making their way out to the middle. If Bangladesh are to harbor any hopes of saving the game, they need a really strong first session. They need their senior men to get going in a big way to put up a fight. MAHMUDULLAH is on strike for the first ball of the day. RAVINDRA JADEJA to start proceedings on day 5.

The pitch has started to turn and that will benefit the Indian spinners. The spinners would like to make life difficult for the Bangladeshi batsmen who will be looking to bat out the day and achieve a draw, if not a win. Promises to be an exciting day. Stay tuned as the action isn't far away.

.... DAY 5, SESSION 1 ....

The players are out in the middle for the fourth day. Musfiqur Rahim and Mehedi Hasan will continue with the bat for Bangladesh. Bhuvneshwar Kumar will begin the proceedings with the ball for India.
Rahim found support in Shakib and Mehedi and will hope to continue in the same way with the latter. The main thing on their mind would be to avoid the follow-on which is still a massive 166 runs away. The hosts would want to stamp their authority in the game with some quick wickets and ask the away team some questions. Stay tuned to find out.
Hello and welcome to the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad for the fourth day of the one-off Test between India and Bangladesh. The visitors with a couple of fantastic sessions have put up a brave fight and are inching closer to avoiding the follow-on. Their skipper has been the man to watch out for as he has played beautifully so far.

.... DAY 4, SESSION 1 ....

71.2 overs: Ravindra Jadeja to Sabbir Rahman, OUT! SABBIR HAS TO WALK BACK DISAPPOINTED! Darted in the line of the stumps, Sabbir sits down and goes for the sweep. He is unable to make contact and the ball goes on to hit his front pad first and then the back pad. The Indians appeal and the umpire raises his finger up. Sabbir has a talk with his captain about reviewing it but Rahim says no. Sabbir's short stay in the middle comes to an end.

62.1 overs: Ravichandran Ashwin to Shakib Al Hasan, OUT! BAD TIME TO LOSE A WICKET! Floated delivery, Shakib dances down the track but this time gets it high on his bat as he goes to loft it over the mid on region. He cannot find the desired contact as the ball goes straight to Umesh Yadav at mid on for an easy catch. Shakib has given away his wicket after having playing so well.

Bangladesh lose their fifth wicket.

56 overs: Bangladesh 196/4. Shakib Al Hasan 73(87), Mushfiqur Rahim 33(72)

49.3 overs: Ravichandran Ashwin to Shakib Al Hasan, NOT OUT! Too close and maybe the decision went in the batsmen's favour! Tossed up delivery, Shakib dances down the track and pushes it wide of mid off. Jadeja cuts it off and throws it on the striker's end. Rahim was too late to respond as Shakib was quick for a single. the umpires go upstairs to check the run out. Replays show that Rahim dived but the sliding bat was pointing upwards. It seemed really close but the umpire has ruled it in the batsman's favour.

34.1 overs: Ishant Sharma to Mahmudullah, OUT! lbw b Ishant Sharma. Bangladesh have lost their fourth wicket.

24.1 overs: Umesh Yadav to Mominul Haque, OUT! WRAPPED ON THE PADS! Angling in from a length, Haque tries to defend it but the ball hits low on his pads. He is totally beaten by the inward movement and the ball also stays low. They appeal in unison and the umpire raises his finger. It seemed plumb. Replays show that the umpire has given a really good decision.

16.4 overs: Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Mominul Haque, OUT! Bad way to lose the first wicket! Angling into the pads, Haque clips it through the square leg region. Umesh Yadav comes in running from the fine leg region quickly to throw it back to the bowler. Tamim wants the second, Mominul hesitates for a bit. Looking at Mominul, even Tamim stutters and that costs him. Bhuvneshwar collects the ball quickly and throws it on the stumps. Tamim is a long way out and he has to walk back to the pavilion.

The players are out in the middle.

The second day of cricket only managed to bring 4 wickets, that just shows how good the pitch is for batting. Will the pitch aid spin today or will it be another batting friendly day of cricket?

The visitors did not lose a single wicket till the 11th over but Umesh Yadav drew first blood via a tremendous review by the Indian skipper. They will be wanting to bat as long as possible to make the game even. The home side on the other hand will want to keep on picking wickets at regular intervals to keep mounting pressure on the opposition. Hope it is an exciting day of cricket. Join us in a while as the start isn't far away.

Hello and a warm welcome to the coverage of Day 3 of the one-off Test between India and Bangladesh in Hyderabad. The hosts sit on top of the game after batting extremely well. With the exception of KL Rahul, every other Indian batsmen was amongst the runs. The massive total on the board means that the Bangladeshi players were under pressure heading into the fag end of the day.

.... DAY 3, SESSION 1 ....

It should be an exciting game of cricket tomorrow where the visitors will hope to spend some time out in the middle and build in the same way the hosts did. The Indian bowlers will want to come out roaring expecting the pitch to help the spinners so that they can impose the follow-on. Join us tomorrow at 0930 local (0400 GMT) for the Day 3 of this one-off Test match.
The hosts have managed to post a big score on the board, thanks to some sensational batting after losing their first wicket in their very first over. Vijay and Pujara steadied the ship but Pujara missed on his century. Kohli stepped up to Vijay's century by scoring yet another double hundred in this season. Rahane was also amongst the runs. Saha scored a ton as well and Jadeja chipped in with a fifty.
Just when it seemed like Bangladesh had survived the day, some terrific bowling by Umesh Yadav and an even better review by Virat Kohli changed the course of the game. Sarkar had to depart as Tamim and Mominul go back to the hut safely without getting damaged anymore. Umesh was the only Indian bowler to trouble the opposition with his pace.
India will be really happy with the session after they piled up 57 runs in just 13 overs which helped them post a big score of 687 runs on the board. Saha got his century and Jadeja also made it a point to reach his fifty in no time before the Indian skipper decided to call them back to the pavilion.
That's stumps on Day 2. Bangladesh 41/1
Bangladesh: 38/1. Tamim Iqbal 22 (37), Mominul Haque 0 (4)
Umesh Yadav to Soumya Sarkar, OUT! GONE! What a review from India! Length ball outside off, angling in, Sarkar goes for the drive as Saha take a fine diving catch to his right. Big appeal as the Indians feel there is a faint inside edge there. Nobody is really confident though. Kohli decides to gamble with the review. It seems to be very close to the naked eye. Guess what, the Snick shows a slight spike. That will do for the hosts as the on-field call has to be overturned. Sarkar isn't happy as he walks back to the pavilion. Just the spark the Indians needed after a rather uneventful passage of play.
Bangladesh: 24/0. Soumya Sarkar 13 (22), Tamim Iqbal 11 (14)
Bangladesh begin their innings
Taijul Islam was the only Bangladeshi bowler to impress consistently. Overall, the visitors' bowling lacked teeth to trouble the Indian batting. Barring the first session yesterday, India's batsmen were hardly challenged although there were a plethora of chances missed. India became the first team to post 600-plus totals thrice in a row. A huge mountain to climb for Bangladesh, starting with a tricky phase to stumps today. The reply isn't far away.
A marathon batting performance from India comes to an end. Murali Vijay's century and a 83 from Cheteshwar Pujara set the platform that was consolidated further by a brilliant double ton from Virat Kohli. Just like India's no.3 batsman, Ajinkya Rahane too missed out on a century but Wriddhiman Saha didn't. The keeper batsman batted well and Ravindra Jadeja too had some fun with a fifty of his own to complete a ruthless batting performance.
Declaration has finally come. Kohli has called his boys back and now they will have a go at the Bangladeshi batsmen. Jadeja and Saha rush back to the pavilion with a smile on their faces.
Taijul Islam to Wriddhiman Saha, SIX! GREAT KNOCK! Saha has managed to get another ton and has looked sublime throughout after his stumping chance went down. Tossed up delivery and Saha dances down the track and smashes it down the ground, over the bowler's head for a maximum. He just puts his hands in the air to cherish the moment.
5th Test fifty for Ravindra Jadeja.
Taijul Islam to Ravindra Jadeja, On the pads, Jadeja clips it through mid-wicket for a single. The gujarat lad has made it count real quick and has played sublime throughout. R Ashwin is the new man in Taijul Islam to Virat Kohli, OUT! KOHLI DEPARTS! Floated outside off and angling in, Kohli stays deep in his crease and tries to defend it. He misses the ball and the ball hits his pads first. The players appeal and the umpire raises his finger. Kohli walks away the very next moment. Replays show that the impact was outside off which would have saved him. Maybe a bad decision to not go for the review. Virat Kohli completes fourth double century Taijul Islam to Virat Kohli, FOUR! What a way to get to his double hundred! Such a classy act and he is always in the news. He also becomes the first batsmen in Test history to register double hundreds in four successive series. Floated outside off, Kohli lofts it over the mid on region to find the fence on a bounce. The players are back out in the middle. Kohli and Saha walk out for India as Taijul will start with the ball for Bangladesh. ....DAY 2, SESSION 2.... Another dominating session for India. It was a frenetic first hour as Kohli went berserk while Rahane too joined the fun as the partnership stretched past 200. Although the latter departed to a superb catch, the skipper has stood firm, closing on his fourth double ton. He survived a couple of close lbw shouts while Saha escaped a stumping scare too. Bangladesh's bowlers were taken apart with only Taijul providing some control. The passage after lunch may see declaration batting at some point. Join us in a while for the second session. Mehedi Hasan to Wriddhiman Saha, Drifting in from around off, Saha gets well forward and blocks solidly once again. THAT SHALL BE LUNCH ON DAY 2. 120 overs: India 477/4. Virat Kohli 191(230), Wriddhiman Saha 4(24) 98.2 overs: Taskin Ahmed to Virat Kohli, TAKE A BOW KOHLI! He piles up another 150 plus score under his belt. This is his fourth overall. Short delivery into the body, Kohli plays a tennis bat forehand towards mid on for a single. 400 comes up for India 96.1 overs: Taskin Ahmed to Virat Kohli, FOUR! Shorter delivery into the body and Kohli won't shy away this time as he pulls it through the mid-wicket region for a boundary. Beats everyone. That brings up the 150-run stand between Kohli and Rahane. 10th Test fifty for Ajinkya Rahane 95.3 overs: Shakib Al Hasan to Ajinkya Rahane, FOUR! SMASHED! Full toss on middle, Rahane heaves it away over mid-wicket to help himself to a boundary. That's a gift and the Indian vice-captain isn't going to miss out on those. Fine knock so far, Rahane will want to make it into a big one. The players are out in the middle. Skipper Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane have walked out to the middle to continue their innings with the bat. The Bangladeshi bowlers started well but hardly troubled once Kohli got in and will try to impose pressure on the home side with regular wickets. If they fail to pick up quick wickets, it might just be a really long day on the field for the visitors. Stay tuned for all the live action. Hello and welcome for the 2nd day of the only Test match between India and Bangladesh. The hosts have totally dominated yesterday's game of play. Apart from KL Rahul, everyone got going. Vijay and Kohli, each scored a ton to keep the scoreboard ticking. While the former got out, the latter has kept on marching alongside Rahane. Those two will look to post a huge score on the board. ....Day 2, Session 1.... The pitch has looked good for batting although there is a two-paced nature to it coupled with slow turn. Still, it's been a fairly good surface to bat on and India's batsmen have cashed in. It won't be wrong to say that most of the dismissals today were a result of the batsmen gifting their wickets. The stage is set for India to really post a gargantuan total on the board. Bangladesh will hope they can somehow limit the damage. Do join us tomorrow at 0930 local, 0400 GMT for the second day's play. Till then, it's goodbye from us. Bangladesh did have their chances in the first session but failed to grab those and it hurt them badly. The run out chance of Vijay was the biggest blemish for them. Taskin Ahmed and Kamrul Rabbi were impressive early on but lacked fizz as the day progressed. Mehedi Hasan was impressive in parts but overall, Bangladesh's spinners failed to apply constant pressure. There was some discipline in the bowling in the first session but nothing much to write home about after that. Another great session to cap a superb day for India. As was the pattern in the first two sessions, they lost just a solitary wicket after tea but continued to boss the game. Virat Kohli brought up another brilliant ton and is still there with Ajinkya Rahane who has looked fluent as well. Murali Vijay's ton and a Cheteshwar Pujara's fifty set the platform for the hosts after KL Rahul's dismissal in the very first over of the day. That's Stumps on Day 1. India 356/3 Virat Kohli gets to his 16th Test century. India 334/3 83 overs: INDIA 305/3. Virat Kohli 82 (116) , 23 (43) 70 overs: INDIA 266/3. Virat Kohli 56 (74) , 10 (31) That's fifty for Kohli. His 15th in Test match cricket. Really this man can do no wrong at the moment 63.4 overs: Taijul Islam to Murali Vijay, OUT! CASTLED! Floated in the line of the off stick, Vijay shuffles across and goes for a lazy sweep. He cannot find contact there and the ball has gone through his defence. The ball hits the timber and the Bangladeshi players roar in celebration. A beautiful innings comes to an end with a really poor shot. 9th Test Hundred for Murali Vijay. Kamrul Islam Rabbi to Murali Vijay, Back of a length delivery and Vijay punches it through the point region. Shakib runs behind it from point and stops the boundary. They keep it to two and Vijay gets his milestone. He is batting beautifully throughout and looks sublime to gather much more. .....DAY 1, SESSION 3..... Another superb session for India. Pujara and Vijay continued to motor along smoothly for a major part of the session before the former departed to Mehedi Hasan on 83. Vijay carried on and is inching closer to another fab Test ton. Virat Kohli has got a start and is timing the ball really well too. Bangladesh's bowlers weren't accurate enough after lunch and have allowed the hosts to dominate proceedings. Unless the visitors make inroads after tea, they could be staring at a massive total. Join us in a while for the final session. 50.4 overs: Mehedi Hasan to Cheteshwar Pujara, OUT! Tossed up delivery, Pujara goes ahead and is playing for the turn. Little did he realise that it was a straighter one and edges it to Rahim, who catches it. First it bounced off his pads, but he maintained his calm and jumped to grab it. However, the crowd is enjoying it, because Virat Kohli will come at the centre. They are buzzing. Pujara goes for a well made 83. 50 overs: INDIA 173/1. Murali Vijay 86(124), Cheteshwar Pujara 79(174) 40 overs: INDIA 127/1. Murali Vijay 64(108), Cheteshwar Pujara 56(129) 30 overs: INDIA 96/1. Murali Vijay 45(78), Cheteshwar Pujara 48(99) Welcome back for the second session. India will hope that this partnership builds further. Bangladesh will hope that the break induces a lapse of concentration from the batsmen. KAMRUL ISLAM RABBI to begin proceedings after lunch. ....DAY 1, SESSION 2..... India's session after opting to bat. Rahul fell in the very first over but Vijay and Pujara once again put on a solid stand to give the session's honors to the hosts. There were a quite a lot of close calls with a big run out chance missed as well. Amidst all this, the duo grew in confidence to steady the ship. Taskin was the pick of the bowlers while Rabbi was good too. Mehedi has created some chances too but the visitors couldn't capitalize on them. Bangladesh will want to make some inroads after lunch. Join us in a while for the second session. 27 overs: INDIA 66/1. Murali Vijay 45(71), Cheteshwar Pujara 39(87) 17 overs: INDIA 66/1. Murali Vijay 35(45), Cheteshwar Pujara 29(53) 10 overs: INDIA 26/1. Murali Vijay 12(22), Cheteshwar Pujara 12(24) 2 overs: INDIA 2/1. Murali Vijay 0(6), Cheteshwar Pujara 0(2) 0.4 overs: Taskin Ahmed to Lokesh Rahul, OUT! CHOPPED ON! What a start for Bangladesh to the Test match! Rahul will consider himself slightly unlucky but it wasn't a wise shot to start with. Full ball outside off, he goes for the lazy drive without any footwork. Gets a thick inside edge that cannons on to his back leg before disturbing the stumps. Taskin is pumped up and why shouldn't he be? Perfect start for the tourists. The players and umpires are making their way out to the middle after the National Anthems of the two teams. KL RAHUL and MURALI VIJAY to open the batting for India. It shall be TASKIN AHMED to take the new ball. Three slips and a gully in place. Here we go! MUSHFIQUR RAHIM hopes that his boys are pumped up as they are playing a top side in their den. Says that they learnt a lot of lessons from their recent New Zealand tour and stresses on the importance of playing consistent cricket over five days. Feels that it is a good pitch with some initial help for the pacers in the first hour. States that they are playing two pacers and two spinners with Shakib Al Hasan as the all-rounder. VIRAT KOHLI says that India will bat first. Opines that it is a good pitch to bat on with a nice covering of grass. States that Hyderabad has always been a good pitch with some help for the quicks. Hopes that India can continue their Test match form without being complacent. AJINKYA RAHANE and BHUVNESHWAR KUMAR are back while WRIDDHIMAN SAHA to returns to the XI. India are playing three seamers and two spinners. .@imVkohli wins the toss and elects to bat first in the one-off Test against @BCBtigers at Hyderabad #INDvBAN pic.twitter.com/6K9UesrQg4 — BCCI (@BCCI) February 9, 2017 Time for the toss. Virat Kohli flips the coin, heads is the call from Mushfiqur Rahim and it is a head. INDIA WIN THE TOSS AND OPT TO BAT. Hello and welcome to our coverage of the one-off Test match between India and Bangladesh in Hyderabad. There is a lot hype around this match due to the the tourists playing their first ever Test on Indian soil. They have their task cut out against the Numero Uno side who are in supreme form at the moment. Bangladesh's ability to play spin well will give them a better chance than the previous visiting sides but a lot hinges on their batting. India have a problem of plenty with their XI and it remains to be seen as to who all make the cut for the game. The toss and other updates are coming up shortly. For Bangladesh, it is a historic moment as they are playing a Test match on Indian soil for the first time but for the hosts, it will be more about maintaining the momentum they have acquired by winning seven out of the eight matches against comparatively better sides like New Zealand and England.
