Kumble and Kohli advised Pujara to improve strike rate: Sandeep Patil

New Delhi: Indian batsmen put some decent performance in the 2nd innings to bring India an inch closer to victory in the historic 500th test match. Batting at number 3 in both innings, Cheteshwar Pujara fired fifities in  succession to help India secure a mammoth lead. Cheteshwar Pujara who failed to make an impact in West Indies last month seems to have found his way back. The saurashtra player scored 62 run in 146 balls in 1st innings and 78 runs in 219 balls in the 2nd innings against New Zealand. Former chief selector Sandeep Patil looks impressed by Pujara’s comeback. Talking to ABP news Patil said, coach Anil Kumble and skipper Virat Kohli were unhappy with Pujara’s performances in the Caribbean and advised the player to work on improving his strike rate before the Kanpur test. This chat seems to have worked out well with the player. “This transformation can be compared to hindi blockbuster ‘Ram aur Shyam’. Who we saw in West Indies was Ram and who we saw in the 1st test against New Zealand was Shyam” added Sandeep patil.
