Indian pacer Parvinder Awana attacked in Greater Noida

New Delhi: Former India T20 fast bowler Parvinder Awana was ambushed and beaten up by 5 locals in Greater Noida on Friday evening.

The 31-year-old cricketer is believed to have suffered severe bruises on face and was also bleeding from his mouth. Awana was returning from post-match recovery when miscreants mistook him as a part of a rival gang.

The assault was reported to Greater Noida Police, who have started investigation on the matter.

Parvinder Awana plays domestic cricket for Delhi and He is also represents Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League.

The Right arm bowler made his India debut in 2012 against England and managed 2 T20 appearances for India.
