Pune: India bowled out Australia for 285 runs at lunch on day 3 in the first Test match at Maharashtra Cricket association stadium in Pune.
Visiting skipper Steve Smith led from the front to guide Australia to a mammoth lead of 440 runs. Smith smashed 109 runs to complete his 18th Test century.
After a brilliant half century in the first innings, Mitchell Starc quick fired 30 runs to help Australia march towards a big total.
R Ashwin was the stand out performer for India with 4 wickets for 119 While, Ravindra Jadeja became the first ever left-arm spinner to clinch 50 wickets in one season.
In the first innings, Australia scored 260 runs before bowling out the hosts for 105, taking 155-run lead.
Virat Kohli’s India now have 441 runs to chase in 2 and half days time.
