IND V AUS 3rd Test, Lunch Report: India reach 193 for 2, trail Australia by 258 runsPhoto: AFP New Delhi: Murali Vijay threw his wicket away after taking India to a solid position at 193 for 2 at Lunch on Day 3 of the third India-Australia Test in Ranchi. Resuming the day at 120 for 1, Vijay along with Pujara showed admirable patience to deny Australia an early entry into the door on Day 3. Playing in his 50th Test match, Vijay reached his 15th half century but failed to convert it into a big one after running passed an O’Keefe delivery, which also turned to be the last ball before Lunch. Australia did manage to keep the Pujara and Vijay at bay with spin from both ends. And if they hadn’t wasted their reviews then they might have seen the back of Vijay a lot earlier. The Indian opener had got a clear inside edge which gobbled up at forward short-leg but umpire Ian Gould ruled in Vijay’s favour. The biggest news of the morning came from the Indian camp though, as captain Virat Kohli was seen padded up and in all probability will come out to bat when play resumes after Lunch.  (Virat Kohli fit, will bat in the third India-Australia Test) India still trail Australia by 258 runs.
