'Disappointed' Sehwag blames RCB batsmen for dismal show against KKR

New Delhi: A highly ‘disappointed’ Virender Sehwag blamed the RCB batting for their reckless show against Kolkata Knight Riders in an IPL match in Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Chasing 132 for victory, RCB were bowled out for 49 in 9.3 overs – the lowest total ever in the ten year history of IPL and slumped to a humiliating 82 run defeat. “I am very disappointed with the batting performance of RCB. It is hard to believe that none of the RCB batsmen crossed the double figure mark,” said Sehwag in an exclusive interview to ABP News. The star-studded RCB batting line up looked clueless in front of KKR seamers. Kohli, Gayle, De Villiers, Jahdav came cropper as none of the RCB batters crossed the double figure mark. Sehwag believed RCB have only themselves to blame at. “There were no demons in the pitch. Yes there was some help available for the quick bowlers; it was evident when KKR crumbled after a good start. But getting bowled out under 50 is not acceptable.” “There were some reckless shorts and soft dismissals which are not at all expected from a quality side like RCB,” said Sehwag. The Kings XI head of cricketing affairs praised his onetime opening partner Gautam Gambuhir and portrayed him as one of the reasons for KKR’s inspiring performance. “Credit must be given to Gautam Gambhir for his superb captaincy. He did a fine job to motivate his players to comeback like this after putting up a low score,” added Sehwag.
