De Kock credits coach McKenjie post blistering 168* against Bangladesh

South Africa [South Africa], Oct. 16 (ANI): South Africa batsman Quinton de Kock, who smashed 168* during his side's record 10-wicket win against Bangladesh on Sunday, said he worked a lot on his technique and put in some serious net time in the recently-completed Test series between the sides.

De Kock and Hashim Amla put on an undefeated opening stand of 282 as Proteas chased down the target of 279 with 43 balls to spare in Kimberley, thus taking a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.

The wicketkeeper-batsman brought his 13th ODI ton in just 100 balls, while Amla also reached the milestone in 100 balls.

The left-handed batsman, who had limited time in the middle during the two-match series as the South Africa top order cashed in both games.

"I didn't get a chance to bat in the Test series so I had a chance to do some technical work out in the nets with Neil McKenzie, our coach. It was nice to get some batting," Sport24 quoted De Kock as saying.

"It's one hundred, I wouldn't say it's form. Anything can happen. But I'd like to keep it going and hopefully there are some more runs coming up," the 24-year-old added.

The two teams will now lock horns in the second ODI in Paarl on Wednesday. (ANI)
