Conte signs new two-year contract at Chelsea

London [UK], July 19 (ANI): Antonio Conte has signed a new two-year contract with Chelsea, confirmed the Premier League champions.

The deal is announced as Conte prepares to take Chelsea to China and Singapore on our pre-season tour of Asia, where we will face Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan.

Conte expressed jubilance over extending his contract with the Premier League champions and further called on his side to work harder to stay at the top.

"The Chelsea fans have given me so much support since I arrived here one year ago and it is important we continue to succeed together," said the 47-year-old.

"Antonio achieved incredible success last season, adapting to English football very quickly and leading us to the Premier League title," said club director Marina Granovskaia.

"This new contract reflects our belief that he can continue to deliver results both domestically and as we return to European competition in the Champions League," he added.

Last season, Conte lifted the Premier League title at the first attempt, guiding Chelsea to a record 30 wins in a single season, as well as a club-record 13 consecutive league victories. Under the Italian, Chelsea also reached the FA Cup final.

Conte has added compatriots Paolo Vanoli and Davide Mazzotta to his backroom staff for the new season.

Vanoli will serve as his assistant after Steve Holland took up a post under Gareth Southgate with the England national team, while Mazzotta will work on player analysis. (ANI)
