Cilic into his first ever Wimbledon final after win over Querrey

New Delhi: Croatian Marin Cilic on Friday booked a place in the Wimbledon finals after defeating United States’ Sam Querrey 6-7(6), 6-4, 7-6 (3), 7-5.  The world’s No.6, needed two hours and 56 minutes, and two match points to seal his fifth win over Querrey, who has never defeated him. It was less of a routine victory for the Croatian than the scores suggest. Former US Open champion Cilic held his grip over the game by breaking Querrey’s serve. Querrey who had earlier outclassed the limping Andy Murray in the quarter finals then didn’t looked a match for Marin who took the game away from him in the last three sets. When asked about his views on the final game, the Croatian said, "[The final] will definitely be a huge match whoever I play. Tomas [Berdych] is playing really well as well, and Roger [Federer] is playing the best tennis of his career. But for me it's about playing my own tennis and focusing on my own game." The 28 year old managed to reach the final for first time at the All England Club where he is set to take the 18 time Grand Slam winner Roger Federer in an epic showdown.
