Champions Trophy semifinal: India elect to field against Bangladesh

Birmingham [U.K], June 15 (ANI): Defending champions India won the toss and elected to field against Bangladesh in the second semi-final of the ongoing Champions Trophy at the Edgbaston Cricket Ground, Birmingham on Thursday.

India are going into the match with the same team that clinched an eight-wicket win over top-ranked South Africa in the last group stage game at the Kennington Oval.

Bangladesh have also not made any changes in its team and are going with the same Playing XI which featured against New Zealand in their last group fixture.

India will start today's game as strong favourites as they had finished the group stage at the top of Pool-B with two comprehensive wins, including a huge arch-rivals 124-run triumph against Pakistan.

However, they will still be wary of Bangladesh, who had entered the last-4 stage on the back of an upset win over New Zealand and had finished second in Group-A.

Playing XI:

India: Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli(c), Yuvraj Singh, MS Dhoni(w), Hardik Pandya, Kedar Jadhav, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah

Bangladesh: Tamim Iqbal, Soumya Sarkar, Sabbir Rahman, Mushfiqur Rahim(w), Shakib Al Hasan, Mahmudullah, Mosaddek Hossain, Mashrafe Mortaza(c), Taskin Ahmed, Rubel Hossain, Mustafizur Rahman. (ANI)
