BBL: Pollard, Pietersen get involved in unique on-field tussle

BBL: Pollard, Pietersen get involved in unique on-field tussle Photo: Twitter @BBL New Delhi: Kieron Pollard is in the news again, not the first time for his on-field antics, only this time the tall West Indian was not at fault or at least it didn’t seem like he was.  The incident took place during a Big Bash League match between Melbourne Stars and Adelaide Strikers. Kevin Pietersen refused to bat against Kieron Pollard because of a tape wrapped around his fingers and palm. Pietersen complained to the umpires and the game had to be stopped for a brief period as Melbourne Stars batsman Pietersen questioned the need of the tape. The umpires intervened and allowed Pollard to carry on with it. The total conversation was recorded as Pietersen was mic'd up. When questioned about the incident after the match the umpires clarified that the tape was not providing any undue advantage to pollard while bowling and hence there was no reason to tell him to take it off. Chasing a target of 153 the Melbourne Stars won the match by 2 wickets thanks to a cameo by No.8 Ben Helfinhaus.
