After tying the knot in a private yet grand wedding ceremony in Italy and then hosting two reception parties in New Delhi and Mumbai, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma flew to South Africa in the wee hours of Thursday along with other members of the Indian cricket team.
India’s most desired couple was spotted at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International airport in Mumbai.
The Bollywood actress was seen wearing a comfortable jumpsuit while the Indian cricket team skipper was donning Indian team’s training kit.
The couple will spend New Year’s Eve together before Virat gets back to lead the Indian side against the African giants.
The Indian captain took time off from his busy schedule and requested BCCI to grant him rest from the final Test match and the entire limited overs series against Sri Lanka so that he could tie the knot.
India will play a full series in the African continent which includes 3 Tests, 6 ODIs and 3 T20 Internationals.
India have won 9 consecutive Test series under Kohli of which 8 of them have been in their own backyard.
In the last 18 months, India have only played an away Test match in Sri Lanka. Keeping the hostile conditions and the South African team in mind, there is no doubt this will be an acid test for Kohli and Co.
