Pune set to be mini Chennai, 'Whistle Podu Express' heads to CSK's new home

The joint secretary of CSK fan club ARR Sriram was very thankful to the CSK management team for arranging the train for the fans and insisted that the fans were very excited and the atmosphere in the train was electric.

CSK despite being banned two years from the IPL remain arguably the most popular team in IPL and certainly an initiative like this tells us why CSK has been the most popular.

Kasi Viswanathan the Super Kings CEO said that fans were very particular about the match. "The fans made a request to make arrangements just three days back, and we took it up and thought it would be a good gesture to give back to the fans who have been the livewire for the team, even when the team was not there for two years.

Being asked about the hosting of matches in Pune he said “To organize for all matches in Pune is going to be a big task. Depending on the first match experience, we'll explore the possibilities for the coming matches. Everything is for the CSK fans.”

The train was flagged off the from Chennai on Thursday morning with About 1,000 CSK fans thronging into its coaches.

The excitement was totally evident as many fans arrived at 6:00 AM itself while the train was at 8:30 AM. The fans will be leaving Pune on Friday itself.

The CSK management will bear all the expenses like travelling and fooding for all the passengers. This has been arranged for the next match against Rajasthan Royals but the officials are planning to make sure that this continues for the rest of the home matches.

The home games of Chennai Super Kings may have been shifted from Chepauk to Pune, but the team management have made sure that the yellow wave is still with the team by arranging a train named ‘Whistle Podu Express’ from Chennai to Pune.
