Om Puri: Indian cinema lost legendary actor Ompuri on Januray 6. Apart from Indian cinema, Ompuri contributed a lot to the world of cinema. 'Ardhsatya', 'Tamas' and 'Jane Bhi Do Yaaron' are his one of the most popular films.
Vinod Khanna: 70-years-old veteran actor passed away on April 27 due to longterm illness. He worked in films such as Zameer, Amar Akbar Anthony and Muqaddar Ka Sikandar. In 1997 Khanna was a sitting parliamentarian from Punjab’s Gurdaspur. He was Osho follower and left his film career then again came back to the films.
Reema Lagoo: Known as 'Bollywood's mother' Reema left the world on May 18. She got fame after working in 'Hum aapke Hain Kaun' and 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai'.

Tom Alter: Legendary theatre artist and actor said goodbye on September 29. He was 67 and suffered with skin cancer. Having worked with Satyajit Ray, Tom did more than 300 mnovies. Tom was born in Massourie and studied in FTII, Pune.
Shashi Kapoor: This year ended with a great loss to Indian cinema as legendary and multiple award winning actor Shashi Kapoor left us with a shock on December 4. 79-years-old actor was fighting from longterm illness and other health problems. He was cremated with State honours and Tricolour was wrapped around his body. He was featured in iconic films with Amitabh Bachchan such as 'Deewaar', 'Kabhi Kabhie' and 'Namak Halaal'.
