This is what Soha Ali has to say about her upcoming movie based on 1984 anti-Sikh riots

New Delhi: Actress Soha Ali Khan is all excited for her upcoming movie and she has all the reasons for the excitement as it is not an ordinary film. Ms Soha's upcoming movie, 31st October, is a true life story. Written and produced by Harry Sachdeva and directed by Shivaji Lotan Patil, the film focuses on the aftermath of Indira Gandhi's assassination which occurred on 31 October 1984. On being asked by the ABP Live's Anurag Kumar that the movie is made on the very sensitive issue, what will be its political repercussions, Soha said in an exclusive interview-"When it will be released, only then we will be able to know its political repercussion. The movie is made from the clean heart and it's a true life story." We also tried to know how much support entire team of the movie got from Sikh community while making the movie and this is what the producer of the movie Harry Sachdeva said-"Yes, we have got their full support, in and out. I think everybody wants to know why justice is not given to them (Sikh community) even after so many years...even after so many governments have changed". As it is a true life story, we had to do a lot of research and study for making the movie, the producer added. Starring Vir Das, opposite to Soha Ali Khan, the film is all set to release on 7th October 2016. It is pertinent to mention here that Punjab and Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections are to be held in 2017, and because being made on such sensitive subject, the movie will bound to make waves in political circles. It may also be recalled that Indira Gandhi (3rd Prime Minister of the country) was assassinated on 31 October 1984. She was killed by two of her bodyguards, Satwant Singh and Beant Singh, in the aftermath of Operation Blue Star, the Indian Army's June 1984 assault on the Golden Temple in Amritsar which left the Sikh temple massively damaged.
