Take my National Award if I don't deserve it, says Akshay

Mumbai, April 24 (IANS) Actor Akshay Kumar, who has been criticised for bagging the prestigious National Film Award earlier this month, says after working for 25 years in Bollywood if people still think that he doesn't deserve the honour, they can take it away. Akshay was named the Best Actor for his performance in the crime thriller "Rustom", loosely based on the commander K.M. Nanavati case. While talking to ABP News, Akshay said ""I am observing this from last 25 years, whenever someone wins the award (National Award) there's always a debate and someone starts a controversy on whether someone should have or shouldn't have won the award. I have got this award after twenty-six years, if someone doesn't want me to get this award, if you feel like, please go ahead and take it away from me." He further added "I am lucky I didn't have to face anything like that as yet. All my bones are in their proper place in my body and I would like to thank my stunt-choreographers for this, they have been exceptionally good! They've always taken great care of me, and I believe that a great stunt choreographer is the one who takes care of the actor and his stuntman's health and safety! When a stunt sequence is called to be successful if no one performing gets even one scratch!" The actor was present here at the event by Movie Stunt Artistes Association for the insurance of all the stunt artistes who work in Hindi films. Known for his action films like "Khiladi" and "Mohra", he is now being associated with movies that have a patriotic theme. Apart from "Rustom", he also wore patriotism on his sleeves in films like "Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty", "Baby" and "Airlift". (With Inputs from IANS)
