Makers of Magadheera drag Raabta to court over 'plagiarism'; Producers of the latter hit back

NEW DELHI: Kriti Sanon- Sushant Singh Rajput's 'Raabta' has made people excited with its thrilling trailer. Both the stars are vigorously promoting their flick on every platform. But, if you are a fan of South Indian movies, then you must have noticed its uncanny similarity to SS Rajamouli's blockbuster 'Magadheera'. Just like Magadheera, Raabta's story too revolves around reunion of separated lovers in another birth. Now, Magadheera makers have sought legal action against Raabta. Geetha Arts has moved Hyderabad court demanding stay on Raabta's release. Trade analyst Ramesh Bala took to Twitter to share the news. The statement says, the makers of Magadheera felt "through various sources including the trailer and publicity sources" that Dinesh Vijan-helmed Raabta is "being remade violating the copy rights." "Hyderabad court issued notice to Raabta producers and posted the matter to June 1 to decide whether the film must be permitted to release," reads the statement. Now in response to the allegation, producers of Raabta, Dinesh Vijan, Bhushan Kumar and Homi Adajania have issued an official statement.  It reads that "no one can claim copyright in ideas and plots".   The movie is slated to release on June 9.
